Morning Pages

Do you sometimes feel like you don’t quite know how you feel? Like something is off, but you can’t place your finger on it? I awoke this morning to that same feeling, almost a sadness or a heaviness but had no idea where it was coming from. The silence of meditation wasn’t enough to gain clarity, so I turned to the morning ritual of morning pages, from Julie Cameron’s book The Artist’s Way. It’s a beautiful practice in journalling for the sole purpose of allowing whatever is on your mind to flow onto the pages. I have used this process in the past and it is an excellent tool to allow your emotions and thoughts to flow without any judgement. No one is meant to read the text and one can let go of any judgement that arises. It is not meant to tell a story or to follow a time line, it is an exercise in flow. I have used this process for years on and off and the key for me is to allow anything that arises to be written. All is welcome in this safe place of expression. Give it a go and let me know what you experience #morningpages #flow
