Thanks for posting this Rae. I’m new here it would be great to get more tips on how to manage the outbreaks, and to prevent them. I read on an Amazon review of Femiclear, that it burns like hell, but works so the reviewer said to squeeze it into a bottle with a dropper since it’s more like a liquid than an ointment, then mix it with manuka honey for application. Manuka honey itself is also supposed to be very healing and should be eaten as well as applied. So I am doing all of this.

Hello, just letting you know I read your message and that sounds really upsetting. I’m sorry that happened to you. I was just diagnosed yesterday and I’ve been in a monogamous marriage for 18 years. Never got this until now. It’s so upsetting, and just incredibly physically painful. The guys definitely don’t suffer as we do. Hope you are feeling better as time goes by.

Hi both, I was just diagnosed yesterday and also in shock and enormous physical pain. I’m glad to know you haven’t had more outbreaks- is there anything you are taking, or doing, medication or otherwise to stay healthy?

Thank you both. I was diagnosed yesterday and like Rae was misdiagnosed initially 8 days ago with a UTI, treated for that, then treated for yeast, then finally properly diagnosed yesterday. I’ve got a huge amount of lesions, bumps, sores, inside and outside. It’s surreal and terrifying. I’m on valycyclovir, lidocaine cream and also picked zinc, echinecea, lysine, tumeric, manuka honey (eating it and applying it)and some OTC herpes ointment. I’m taking hydrocodone and ibuprofen. I got a dr.’s note to be off work for 3 days. I’m just praying something starts working. This is definitely a nightmare, especially reading from others that it didn’t go away for several weeks or about reoccurrence. I’m not feeling very optimistic at the moment, but want to. I’ll see how things progress over the next days.

Hello everyone, just got diagnosed yesterday. I think I have a pretty severe case of genital herpes. It’s shocking as I’m 55 years old and I’ve been married for 18 years, and just got it from my husband. I knew he had oral herpes, no signs of genital. I’m just joining the forum and will be looking for solutions for the unbelievable agonizing pain, and how to heal and how to prevent outbreaks.
