Oh dear Ana, thank you for posting this beautifully inspiring post! Yes, we certainly need to live and embrace our powerful wonderful selves. I have heard much of Brene Brown and so happy you found her inspirational as well.
I am in a loving marriage of almost 32 years so have not had to disclose to anyone and can imagine the fears and doubts about oneself. I am in a fortunate and blessed place where my husband disclosed his status early on but I never got it until a few years ago when my immune system was severely depressed. Much love to you in your new relationship with yourself!
Actually I don’t see a search button so am unsure how to do that, either.
I have not experienced this but some others on here, I believe had some on here might have had this issue. I wish well and all the best!!
Hello, Caitlyn, it is always a shock when we first get diagnosed. All we can do is love ourselves and be kind to ourselves. You have a great attitude going forward, I wish you well!
Hello, I seem to have at least minor, sometimes major itching constantly even with no outbreak. Just doing my best to not scratch or I am in trouble. I use Aspercreme with lidocaine when it gets bad. Hopefully it would help you as well.
Good morning, Rae, I am so happy to hear you are doing better! It really is rough the very first time, for sure. I like to journal everyday, like a meditation for me. Getting outside and fresh air as much as possible and just counting my blessings everyday. What we have to accept is it JUST IS. And that is OK because life is full of good and not so good, they go hand in hand.
Belasine, I am so sorry you are dealing with this. Please know that many people have this and are unaware. My husband now of 31 years told me he had herpes from his younger years while we were dating but he was always careful. It wasn’t until about 1.5 years ago I broke out with a severe case and had no idea what it was. I was dealing with autoimmune issues when this surfaced but it could have been dormant for years. But he hasn’t had a breakout in many many years so who knows when I contracted it.
Were you under a lot of stress or having immune issues when you had an outbreak? I wish you well, sweetie, and know lots of people are here for you. (HUGS)
Yes, I had good results from valacyclovir but it seemed to stop working for me after a year and half so I take 1000Mg lysine 3 times a day, CoQ10, and it is for the most part under control. Hopefully, you get some relief!
I had none from meds.
Do you mean side effects of the meds?
Hello, tranquility. It is quite a shock when you first are told and you try to process everything. I find that my emotions are flopping around when I am in an outbreak as well. It does seem to be that the first outbreak is the worst but it is different for everyone.
That is wonderful your partner is being supportive of you! You will get through and carry, it will be ok. Try to keep stress levels down, if you can. I wish you well, my dear~
Hello and welcome, no judgement here at all. You had tests done before intimacy and they were clear? Or did you test again, I am unclear. But either way it is best to be honest with him as difficult as that conversation will be. I wish you well, my dear and try to have a positive mindset and keep your anxiety and stress levels low as that can exacerbate symptoms. Did they put you on meds?
We have discussed other helpful tips here as well. Taking lysine and CoQ10 among them. Wishing you peace!
Welcome to the group, Lesa! Lots of wonderful helpful people here and we are all here to support each other. I wish you well!
That is very interesting about the probiotics. I seem to have little minor outbreaks quite often as well but am not on probiotics. I do put fresh ginger and coconut oil in my morning smoothies though. Maybe someone else has this issue as well.
Interesting, as someone else just posted about negative test results but is pretty sure they have herpes. If you can get a prescription, maybe go ahead and start treatment. I wish you well!
