    Is anyone taking any vitamins or supplements daily to combat outbreakz? What as helped or not helped? Are their foods you avoid to not have outbreaks?

    Hi, I have been taking vitamins and supplements. At minimum I take a daily multivitamin and lysine before/during my period, which is one of my triggers. Otherwise, I have reduced my lysine intake to a few times a week.

    I take a whole host of other things but I am not sure if they are effective. It does put me at ease though since I feel I am doing everything I can. Though some have a recommended daily dose, I pretty much just take these 3 times a week or so unless I am having an outbreak. Zinc, Vitamin C, Echinacea, Probiotic, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Moringa, Evening Primrose Oil (just trying this one since my period is a trigger). I am also an avid tea drinker, the regular stuff like peppermint, ginger, green etc.

    Avoid foods high in arginine (nuts especially) and eat those high in lysine (proteins esp)! Just google a list.

    Thanks for the information. I have been taking lysine daily, but maybe I’ll back down.
