    Hello my friends and sisters,

I have been diagnosed recently, I got it from my first relationship with ever, how hard it can be!!
But still I am doing my best to control it . Because I have never had any sexual partners or experience in these viruses I do have some questions that only you that have it for a longer period than me can help me. Please if you already have been through some years of herpes let me ask you some questions and help me find peace of my mind and my relationship life .

    Thank you!

Hey there!! Welcome to the group. I was diagnosed with HSV2 back in 2014. I had already been married for 14 years at the time and am pretty sure I did not get it from my husband. He passed away about 18 months ago an until then I really didnt have to worry about it. But, now I want to, hopefully have another fulfilling relationship with someone else. It is very distressing to have this and it does get easier as time goes on. Regardless, one needs to be strong to get passed the guilt and stigma one feels. Every once in a while I slide back into the stigma abyss but generally I am pretty optimistic that I will find someone who will accept me the way I am. I am and so are you, an intelligent, beautiful human being with so much to offer the right person. I have read 3 books on Herpes and I think they have helped me cope. I also have been going to counselling to help me adjust when things get back in my head again. I am 70 years old but I dont feel any older than 35 and I need and want that close affection and love from someone who is accepting.
